BROW LIFT AND FOREHEAD LIFT Dallas, TX
Direct Brow Lift
A direct brow lift (brow pexy) is the procedure designed to improve sagging of the brows and upper lids. Thin incisions are placed at the superior (top) margins of the eyebrows. Excess skin is removed above the brow, the muscle is tightened, and the eyebrows are lifted. The brows may also be lifted by the forehead lift technique (described under forehead lift).
Sutures are removed a few days after surgery and make-up can be applied at the end of one week. The procedure takes approximately one hour and is performed under IV sedation and local anesthesia. The patient can return to work in one week.
Forehead Lift
A forehead lift is designed to raise the eyebrows, reduce frown lines and horizontal lines of the forehead, and lessen crow's feet. Incisions can be placed behind or in front of the hairline (the hairline itself can be raised or lowered). The procedure can also be performed through multiple small incisions using a small instrument (endoscopic forehead lift).
The surgery takes approximately one and one half hours. It is often performed in conjunction with other facial procedures. Make-up can be worn in one week, and patients normally return to work in one week.
